projectile

the
moon

involved

a
series
of
experiments

must
hope
that
some
day
America
would
penetrate
the
deepest
secrets
of
that
mysterious
orb

and
some
even
seemed
to
fear
lest
its
conquest
should
not
sensibly
derange
the
equilibrium
of
Europe

project

replaced
the
offending
comedy
by

for
many

he

Barbicane

however

lost

enthusiasm

which
he

become

to
reassemble

colleagues
in
the
board-room

Club

astronomers

astronomical
part

the
enterprise

then

mechanical
