things

be

a
small
city
like
Lycurgus

Dillard
he
had
no
intimates
let
alone
trustworthy
friends
who
could
be
depended
on
to
help
in
such
a
crisis

he

the
moment

visit
some
local

near-by
druggist

him

some
worth-while
