guilty

thither

so

the
hoof
tramps
and
the
voices
of
the
riders

two
grave
old
voices

conversing
soberly
as
they
drew
near

road

young
man

hiding

doubtless
to

depth

wayside

they

a

they
must
have
passed

crouched

voices

Deacon
Gookin

they

riders

to

a
switch
