they
reached
a
surprisingly
immediate
agreement
on
the
statement
of
their
common
goal

We
are
here
to
remove
a
primary
weapon
from
the
hands
of
disputant
religions
.
That
weapon
—
the
claim
to
possession
of
the
one
and
only
revelation
.
”
Jubilation
at
this
“
sign
of
profound
accord
”
proved
premature
.
For
more
than
a
standard
year
,
that
statement
was
the
only
announcement
from

Men
spoke
bitterly
of
the
delay
.

composed
witty
