divided
the
windows
from
each
other

was
very
narrow

and
except
when
they
were
passing
through
the
wall

Diamond
saw
nothing
to
keep
him
from
falling
into
the
church
.
It
lay
below
him
like
a
great
silent
gulf
hollowed
in
stone
,
and
he
held
his
breath
for
fear
as
he
looked
down
.
